As it turns out business has slowed down considerably because I have lost one or two sites to my old hosting company. My old hosting company which I cancelled with decided to also delete all the files associated with a couple of domains that I had. Luckily for me I only lost a couple posts on those blogs, but a set back is a set back. I do have a backup on paper for everything that I write, but that only includes the title and what I plan to write about. Either way I’m going to have spend some time working on getting those files and databases onto a new host so wish me luck.

Today I was reading about this mug that will display the word “ON” when completely filled with coffee. The reason I’m writing about this is because I find it fascinating how we are now using our technology to make newer and better products. I think it’s fabulous that we are using technology to better our products, and I hope that one day we can use this technology for more everyday items. For one we can start incorporating sensors to check our health in our water bottles or some other item so that we always know how our health is doing.

I assume this can be filed under both Business and Living because it deals with both. I recently joined a fraternity at my college and I never thought that a fraternity can help so much with a business and networking. Since I constantly start new websites to make money having a bunch of guys who you can tell to visit and link to your site does wonders for the amount of comments and hits that your site receives. I’m going to outline the benefits of being in a fraternity for networking (lifestyle), and business.
Networking
1. A fraternity allows you to meet new people
Everyday I meet old and new fraters in the fraternity itself, but I also meet every fraters friends as well allowing me to meet at least 3 new people everyday. In addition many fraters have a job and therefor they give me recommendations whenever I apply for a job.
2. Events
While it is true that fraternities are predominantly known for throwing parties, we also throw philanthropy and sporting events. While at these events you meet with coordinators and other like minded people who will work with you in the future.
Business
1. Visitors for me
As I stated earlier having men who call you their brother is a great honor, but it’s also a great way to get visitors to your blog or site. Besides my fraters they have friends that they can tell, and I always can ask the pledges for a favor.
2. Sell Products
Some of my fraters also have their own business which allows me to advertise for them and vice versa. Often times I find myself adding a text link to their product and they will do the same to drive traffic to my site as well.

I watched Quantum of Solice today on my computer and it was a pretty good music. I feel that movie moved away from the classic James Bond of technology and gadgets towards a more refined Bond of kung fu / martial arts. One of the better elements of the movie was how James was always able to escape a situation by quick thinking, and I liked how he was always fueled towards revenge. What else? Hmm… one thing that I did not enjoy about the movie was the fact that many references were made and that none of them were explained. Of the people that I talked to over 80% of them did not understand the significance of Quantum. It could be that in the next 007 movie they will touch base on what all this stuff meant, or there might not be another james bond movie.

Technology or more specifically computers according to moore’s law is doubling every two years, and up until now I didn’t believe that was true. Taking a look back to my computer that I purchased during the tenth grade and comparing it to what I have now is comparing apple and oranges. The old computer sported a AMD Athlon 3500+, 1 Gig of PC3200 DDR Memory, a 250 Gig hard drive and a X200 graphics cards. My computer today is a AMD 4800+, 2 GIgs of PC6400 DDR2 Memory, 750 Gigs of hard drive storage and a X1600 512MB graphics card. I can only imagine what is to come in the future when computers are so fast that they outstrip our modern day computers in both size and speed.

I never realized how much work maintaining a business could be. Ever since I started my online business during my freshmen year of high school I have seen the highs and the lows. Fortunately for me I have seen many more highs as opposed to lows and I think that has to do with how much I’ve wanted to succeed. Relating back to Steve Pavlina I can see why he has been able to do so well, it’s because he’s wanted to the entire time. When I was talking to my friend Ankit over at Slackerjack.us he told me the exact the same thing and informed me that I couldn’t have a single doubt or negative thought otherwise my motive would be void. Luckily for me my business has become bigger and with all the knowledge that I have gained it has become easier to run. Of course all the variables in the equation for my business that cannot be controlled often lead me to a bit of stress.
